Bookkeeper
Hours: Full and Part Time (25 – 40 per week)
Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
Duties:
- Manage client VAT returns with a strong working knowledge of VAT
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for multiple clients for management review.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Provide support to junior bookkeeping staff as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role within practice environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and external stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
- AAT qualified or studying towards a qualification
- Experience in a similar role within a financial services firm
- Knowledge of Xero, Sage and/or Quickbooks accounting software
