Bookkeeper 

Hours:
Full and Part Time (25 – 40 per week)
Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Duties: 

  • Manage client VAT returns with a strong working knowledge of VAT
  • Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for multiple clients for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Provide support to junior bookkeeping staff as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.


Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role within practice environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and external stakeholders.


Desirable Skills:

  • AAT qualified or studying towards a qualification
  • Experience in a similar role within a financial services firm
  • Knowledge of Xero, Sage and/or Quickbooks accounting software

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)


Experience:

  • Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
  • Bookkeeping: 3 years (required)


Language:

  • English (required)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
