Trainee Payroll Administrator
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: 24k-28k depending on experience

The Ideal Candidate:
- This role requires a candidate with ideally 2 years previous payroll experience (bureau experience not essential).
- Will have excellent attention to detail
- Willing to listen and learn, with a 'can do’ attitude
- Ability to work on their own initiative, organised and accurate
- A good communicator with whom colleagues and clients like to work with
- Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
- Able to work under pressure
- Competent using Microsoft Office packages and previous knowledge of Payroll Software.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- To prepare and run weekly/monthly clients payroll, accurately and within the given time scales on IRIS Payroll Professional or Staffology software.
- Complete payroll journal for posting to Nominal Ledger as and when required.
- To complete monthly & annual returns to the HMRC (FPS, EPS and EYUs)
- Deduct pension contributions and make pension payments to the pension provider, setting up auto enrolment services as and when required.
- To deal efficiently and sympathetically with internal and external (clients and HMRC) payroll queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide accurate and meaningful internal and external reports upon request.
- Prepare letters for clients, informing them of their PAYE liabilities.
- Set up new payrolls on IRIS Payroll Professional or Staffology as appropriate.
- Provide clients with technical guidance on payroll and auto enrolment queries.
- Support more junior team members with queries.
